Helpful Tips When Selecting A Bed Or Lap Quilt

Quilts come in all shapes and sizes. And, because ours are crafted as one-of-a-kind works of art, they are not created in uniform sizes. You see, they are unique, each and every one of them. With that being said, we will do our best to help you find the perfect quilt, sized based on how you hope it is used.

How To Select A Quilt Based On The Size Of Bed It Will Be Used With.

Because mattresses differ in size and depth, we’ve created a handy chart [at the end of the blog] for your use. It demonstrates the common / average sizing of beds. However, we’ve also noted the range of sizes to help you find the perfect quilt here:

What’s The Difference Between A Lap And A Throw Quilt?

A lap quilt is typically used to cover a lap and legs while in a seated position. This is ideal when wanting to be covered for some warmth and is perfect for someone who gets cold when sitting still or uses a wheelchair. A throw quilt is often larger in size and used to cover most of the body. It’s commonly used to snuggle with or used when feeling rather cold and wanting to warm up. Both are best when selected based on the size of the person you are purchasing it for and how they might use it.

Other Thoughts To Consider.

A lap, throw, or bed quilt can easily become a wall hanging! Additionally, any can also become a family heirloom, being passed on from one family member to another; one generation to the next. Each type of quilt makes a wonderful gift with a diverse manner in which it can be used.
